Logan Belew is an Akron Zip!

Logan Belew of East Canton, OH joined The University of Akron fall 2014. Majoring in Biomedical Engr-Biomaterials &, Belew is one of nearly 4,300 new students to UA.

Among them, first-time freshmen on main campus pursuing a bachelor's degree are the most academically prepared in UA's history, with an average high school grade point average -- the best predictor of college success -- of 3.35.

This year's entering class broke several other records according to preliminary indicators:

• the highest number of applications at more than 18,700,
• the largest entering Honors freshman class,
• the largest Honors College enrollment overall, and
• the highest number of minority entering freshman Honors students.
