Madison Plaster receives prestigious Buckingham Scholarship

University of Akron student Madison Plaster of North Canton, OH received the prestigious Lisle M. Buckingham Scholarship from the Honors College. The scholarship covers full tuition and instructional fees and their UA room and meal charges, provided they maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average. The Buckingham Scholarship makes up the difference between other scholarship awards and the Buckingham Scholar's UA expenses; it is not a fixed amount.

In accepting the designation Buckingham Scholar, Madison will get to participate in certain University service and co-curricular activities associated with the Buckingham Scholar Program.

Plaster is a 2014 graduate of Hoover High School and plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engr-Biomaterials & at UA.

The Honors College at UA was established in 2005, currently enrolls over 1,800 students and has over 4,400 alumni.
