Shannon Francis participated in UA's 2014 Alternative Spring Break program

2014 Apr 10

For most students, spring break is a time to relax and have some fun. For Shannon, spring break means a little more.

This year, Shannon was one of 87 students to travel with UA's Alternative Spring Break program March 24-26. UA teams traveled to sites in South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Virginia, and completed nearly 2,200 community service hours.

In Georgia, Shannon worked at Camp Twin Lakes. This camp provides experiences for children facing serious illnesses, disabilities and other life challenges. Volunteer work included camp repairs, demolition, and site preparations for the upcoming season. Take a look at the photos!

From Parma, OH, Shannon is pursuing the degree Bachelor of Arts, Social Work.
